Happenings around the house

Here are just some happenings around the house:

One morning Samuel finds a guitar that we purposefully let run out of battery power. "Where the batteries? I find it." So I hear him going around and a drawer or two opens and bangs shut. Then he finds Ashley's guitar stand in one corner of his room. He brings it in the hallway and pulls up the top piece that is folded down when not in use and uses it as a microphone. "Wadies and Gen-tol-man. I find the battewies *jibber jabber* today. Thank you beddy much." Slams the piece back down. Did he actually find them? No. But it was classic Samuel. I love that little boy who is growing up way too fast.

Allie wakes up from naps or in the morning. She crawls to the end of the bed we've lowered and starts talking--"Di-di-di-da-da-da-di-du-du-du, etc." She has learned to spit things out and push them away. Throwing her sippy cup and various objects make her so happy. She loves to "talk" with her brother. It is also known as screaming in high pitches at each other, growling, or just yelling in general. They really have a great time and seem to understand each other. :) She is very hefty and very strong. Daddy will have to be on guard. She will be a force to be reckoned with. Mommy will sit back and watch the fun. :)

Mommy is learning to adjust to having a house again instead of everything at her fingertips. Stairs are good for climbing and strengthening muscles. She is learning again more on what it means to lean into the Lord. One stressful day recently, when mommy was yelling "JESUS!" Samuel came up and said, "Sh!! Too Woud (loud)! Wisten to Mi-sook (music)!" He did this twice, and the song playing was from the A to Z Promises for Kids CD. At that particular moment was a song about grace:

My grace, my grace, my grace is sufficient, children.
My grace, my grace, my grace is sufficient, child.
For God is able to make His grace abound...

What a blessing Samuel is...

Daddy is learning how to play with portable fire, AKA the grill. No singed eyebrows, but I can't say that about the meat. But we've only done it once now. :) Samuel, who is normally not a big fan of meat, requested "more meat". Allie on the other hand is a voracious omnivore, especially meat. She is more like her mother. I think Cheerios are not in fashion anymore. :)

So...this is what is happening on our end of things so far! Stay tuned for more antics and action from Samuel and Alabaster!

Oh Toodles! (as Samuel would say)
